3/13/2024 | 6:30 - 8:00 p.m. | It’s MAYHEM here! Decoding Big Emotions & Responding to Challenging Behaviors.
Kids are having big emotions, meltdowns and difficult behaviors and teachers are trying to put out these behavioral fires … but often it backfires. There is a mismatch when they want to approach and reason or offer support and the kid is not having it. We want kids to magically listen ~ but we must understand how the child’s brain processes what is happening, so teachers can plan an appropriate approach. Join this session to learn how to use the brain hand model and the three R's approach (regulate/relate/reason) to provide a map of what to do. Teaching kids to understand feelings and helping them develop executive skills (impulse control, flexibility and working memory) will help decrease and prevent challenging behaviors.
This training requires a minimum of 5 attendees in order to run.
All proceeds from the trainings goes toward creating more professional development opportunities.
